Remain in Christ
Prayer and the sacramental life come before dramatic language about warfare.
Prince of the Heavenly Host
A devotion of confidence in God’s victory, resistance to temptation, and steadfastness in the spiritual battle.
St. Michael’s name itself is a rebuke to pride: Who is like God? His intercession directs the Christian away from fear and self-reliance and back toward the sovereignty of God.
Ask his protection, but keep the center where it belongs. Christ is Lord. The Cross is victorious. The Christian fights by remaining in grace, rejecting sin, forgiving enemies, keeping watch over the senses, and persevering in prayer.
Ave Cordis Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, servant of the Most High and defender of God’s people, stand with those who struggle against temptation, fear, deception, and discouragement. Obtain clarity where there is confusion, courage where there is cowardice, restraint where passion seeks control, and perseverance where weariness tempts surrender. Guard homes, families, clergy, and all who seek to remain faithful to Christ. Under the victory of the Cross, drive the heart away from sin and toward truth, repentance, charity, and steadfast prayer. Amen.
The Battle Plan
Prayer and the sacramental life come before dramatic language about warfare.
Name the sin plainly, refuse it, and turn immediately toward the good.
Counter confusion with Scripture, sound teaching, and an honest examination of conscience.
Hatred is not spiritual strength. The Christian fights without surrendering love.
